Although a large part of this trail falls outside the Northern Cape, it is included here for those coming or going to the Northern Cape. This stretch is about 200km +. The 2 westcoast sections to the North are Caracal Route (Hondeklipbaai - Groenrivier for the part along the coastline) and Shipwreck Route (Kleinzee - Koiingnaas). 
A good place to start or end this trail is at Klein Tafelberg. There are no set way to do these routes, as there are many ways in which they can be combined with other interesting places in the area to be explored.
